Creating A Blog

Creating a blog for me was no easy task. Start with the fact that when I tried to set up a blogger account, I accidentally set up a Google Plus account. Stumbling for a solid 20 minutes through this Google Plus account was like getting lost in a corn maze, you have no idea where you are and no idea how to get where you need to be. Then I finally realized that I was on the wrong site and had to completely restart. Now I was finally on the blogger site and ready to set up an account. I put in my Blogger name and address and was ready to go, the only problem being that I didn’t have a clue on how to use it. For inspiration and to learn how to use the site, I decided to look up other people’s blogs to get a feel on what it is and how I am supposed to “Blog”. The more I looked into it, the more I realized that it was just another Twitter with no character limits. Thus immediately I was tempted to post blogs with things like: #FirstBlog #Excited #kindofconfused @Cmerwin24 @IanDU2012. I then assumed that this is not how it is supposed to be used. Now that I had created an account and searched what they were supposed to be like… I still didn’t have a clue what kind of writing it was supposed to be. I figured the only way that I would know is to just start writing; just see what comes naturally. This brings me to right here, knowing nothing more than I did when I started. Instantly I started thinking that blogging might be more like Facebook where you post personal messages about your life. To see if this was true I proceeded to Facebook and the very first thing I saw was a post saying, “I can’t believe that bitch called me fat”. Seeing this, I realized that I wished that blogging were not like Facebook, not as hostile and mean, and that it would be something new, exciting, and well… nice. Still not knowing what blogging is I will leave you with this: #highhopes #dontsuck #notlikefacebook #367words #kindofexcited.

  1. Hey Bill! It seems like a lot of people had trouble setting up their accounts. That's unfortunate that you accidentally did the wrong thing in the beginning. Your post was very comical and I liked how you really wrote out your thoughts.
